Upland, CA  -  December 12, 2007  - National Marketing Director, Bill McCloud announced from the ASA Speed Truck Challenge offices today that D.J. Safety, a long-time leader in complete racing safety products, will be the "Official Safety Products" company of the ASA Speed Truck Challenge in 2008.  "As most of the competitors and those that watch our series know, president Jay Rutherford has been adamant about the safety of his drivers on and off the track," stated McCloud. "We are proud to be associated with owner Joe Hansen and his great staff and know that DJ Safety will help ASA Speed Truck Challenge take our safety to the next step."

ImageFounded in 1996 by Hansen and his wife Darlene, DJ Safety set out to become a leader in high-level design engineering applications for specific industries. Targeted were the aviation, aerospace, film, and theme ride industries, as well as the specialty of racing safety assemblies. Hansen retired from the United States Navy in 1989 after serving 22 years in the Nuclear Submarine Force. "We have tried to be general, however very specific in our product lines and approach to safety as we strive to make and represent the very best in safety equipment," said Hansen.

DJ Safety's product line is very comprehensive with a complete line for racers to include: 5, 6 & 7 point racing seatbelts, arm restraints, driving shoes, fire suits, gloves, helmets, on-board Fire Extinguisher Systems, blower restraints, engine diapers, crash nets, tie downs, transmission blankets, and window nets. Because of the new SFI and EPA mandated rulings on the discontinued use of Halon in racing fire suppression systems, president Rutherford was particularly interested in finding a partner that would make the transition easy and inexpensive for all of his race teams. "I'm very pleased with the information that Joe has provided us with the ability for DJ Safety to meet the need of our teams to change out their fire suppression systems to meet the new guidelines," said Rutherford. "I've been familiar with DJ Safety's record on providing the very best in safety gear in racing for some time and I am extremely glad that they have become our Official Partner for the 2008 season."

DJ Safety's General Manager, Loren Hill, who has been associated with the ASA Speed Truck Challenge for several years, has promised that he will work personally with every team to make sure that they get the very best products at the right price. DJ Safety will also stock the ASA Speed Truck Challenge parts trailer with items that the drivers may need in the way of safety while at the track away from their own shops.

"To make sure that every driver's truck is properly equipped with the correct SFI-approved fire suppression system, I strongly urge all of the Speed Truck Challenge teams to call DJ Safety asap to order your new unit," said president Rutherford. "There will also be some great specials that we will make available to all teams as they prepare for the 2008 season."  " Join us in making sure that every team is safe!" concluded Rutherford.
