The ASA SPEED TRUCK CHALLENGE is in its 12th racing year with the 2008 races being seen for the first time on network national television, with 14 original and at least 14 repeat broadcasts all in primetime Saturday afternoons in the 3rd and 4th quarters. The television shows are brought to you from 8 Southwestern race tracks including Irwindale Speedway known as "LA's 1/2 Mile Super Speedway", I-10 Speedway on the Colorado River Fairgrounds, Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA, Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ, Havasu 95 Raceway in Lake Havasu, AZ; Willow Springs International Raceway and the newly constructed Kern County's New Home to NASCAR, (formerly Mesa Marin Raceway; the birthplace of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series), in Bakersfield, CA. The 2008 season will see the Speed Trucks return to the famed "ESPN Winter Heat" at Tucson Raceway Park.
Most importantly, the ASA Speed Truck Challenge will continue with its extremely cost effective "regional" advertising fees but with "national network" television coverage for its sponsors, while presenting a return on investment of an impressive $8.00 to $1.00 (Joyce Julius & Associates) and maintaining a cost-per-30 seconds of less than $500.00 in package buys. Our strong 2006 Nielsen Media rating of .515 on the VERSUS Channel and .485 rating on the Outdoor Channel in 2007, have proven broadcast delivery to over 5-million homes in the 4th quarter of 2006 and 2007, respectively. With our new broadcast partner, ION Media Network, we expect our exciting television shows to be seen by over 22 million viewers in the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2008. (see projected Nielsen Media Research and Demographic Profile document enclosed)The ASA Speed Truck Challenge television shows mix the best of racing action with insightful and electrifying features in an action-packed format. Within the fast moving segments are well-placed and well-timed features including instant replays, speed shots, sky cams, driver cams, suspension cams and numerous "on board - in truck" cameras from an array of camera angles. The television shows are creatively edited with quick paced music, graphics and animations tying the product together and creating an exhilarating "edge of your seat" television program. The ASA Speed Truck Challenge currently has 70 racing teams, making it the largest and only series on the West Coast that is televised nationally. In 2008, Speed Truck racing will be seen on the ION Media Network (formerly the PAX Network) broadcasting to 94+ million homes. The series is the premier racing group under the American Speed Association (ASA), which is one of the leading auto racing sanctioning bodies in the U.S. with over 100 racing divisions, over 50 ASA Member race tracks and sanctions over 500 events each year. The Speed Trucks are full tube chassis, 108 inch wheelbase, 375 horsepower Van Gordon Racing V-8's, fired by Mr. Gasket's - Mallory / ACCEL ignition systems and Torco Race Fuel, with 2-speed direct drive transmissions and Speedway Engineering aluminum quick change rear ends on 8-inch Hoosier Racing Tires and will reach speeds of 110 MPH at the ½ mile Toyota Speedway oval and 140 MPH on the 1.7-mile road course at Firebird International Raceway. The Speed Trucks sport exact Norris Racing replica fiberglass bodies in Chevy S-10, Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota and Toyota Tacoma. ION is an over the air broadcast / cable / satellite television network that first broadcast in 1998. The network is owned by ION Media Networks (formerly Paxson Communications - PAX Channel). As of 2007, the network was viewable in approximately 94 + million homes, or 85% of primetime television households in the U.S. through its broadcast television station group and pursuant to distribution arrangements with cable and satellite distribution systems. The network has 94 VHF and UHF owned and operated or affiliate stations in the U.S. In 2008, following the huge success of other stations tapping into the motorsports viewership and sponsor product loyalty, ION developed a Motorsports Block on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 PM EST nationwide, leading into the NFL Game of the Week. The bulk of ION's weekly schedule is made up of movie and sitcom classics, cultivating a very strong 25 to 54 male and female demographic. Management believes that by introducing a weekend motorsports schedule featuring such broadcasts such as ASA Speed Truck Challenge and other exciting vehicle visual action; it will attract the brand-loyal audiences that are necessary to pull major advertising sponsorships. In 2007, ION launched its 24-hour digital broadcast network dedicated exclusively to consumer healthcare and healthy living, called ION Life. |
